The Big Picture and this website were produced by the Palomar-Quest digital sky survey team, a collaborative venture between California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and Yale University.  The data used to create the Big Picture were obtained at the Samuel Oschin telescope at Palomar Observatory, and processed at the Center for Advanced Computing Research (CACR) at Caltech, using technigues developed in part for the U.S. National Virtual Observatory (NVO).  This work is supported largely by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF).
